PLE Empowerment Project

“A bright future begins with a book.” We help Primary Seven pupils approach their Primary Leaving Examinations prepared and confident.

Why it matters

The exam that decides what comes next

The Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) decides whether a child moves on to secondary school. In marginalised communities, many candidates sit it without a single revision guide.

The PLE Empowerment Project gives them the materials and support they need to prepare properly, so their results reflect their ability rather than their circumstances.

What we provide

Everything a candidate needs

Past papers and revision guides
Question banks and study materials so candidates can practise the exam before they sit it.
Writing materials
Pens, pencils, erasers, mathematical sets and rulers, so no child goes into the exam room without the basics.
Study support
Guidance from our team and volunteers on study habits and exam technique.

Where it started

Our pilot at Murambo

The project began at Murambo Catholic Nursery and Primary School, with Primary Seven pupils who were desperate for scholastic materials and revision guides.

The hope in the children’s faces, the relief of their parents and the gratitude of their teachers showed us that a small gesture can have a large return. It is why we are taking the project to more schools.
